First lecture!

Today we had our first lecture and it was about theories of globalisation. It was pretty much the same that we've already studied in Finland but it was a good introduction to the course. Each lecture has an own topic and they're really interesting... For example the next one is about how developed countries are keeping developing countries poor. But more about that later on. I think the lecturer was nice but still very very professional and someone who knows what she's talking about.

And we won't do any group works on this course after all. In addition to lectures we'll create a portfolio where we evaluate some campaign concerning some topic of interest related to globalisation and health. For example I could evaluate a campaign that helps refugee kids living in poverty or something like that. In addition we have to assess why living in those kind of conditions is a problem, how the problem has emerged and what is the effect of the problem to the children or their families. And of course we have to use many written sources when doing this.

In the evening we also attended an information & cinema night about Fuse Mentoring- project. I'm definitely going to apply for it and hopefully i'd get accepted as well... The training starts on Tuesday and I'll tell more about that then.
